Marilyn Lewis began Cardinali in the 60s, and stopped producing the line in 1977. Her pieces were sold only at the best department stores, like Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman. All materials were purchased in Italy, and sometimes the fabric was as much as $100-$300 per yard (in 1960s). Her line was worn by Marlo Thomas in the hit t.v. show "That Girl." She dressed women like Nancy Reagan and Dyan Cannon. Cardinali pieces are highly collectible and highly sought after by vintage couture enthusiasts. Lewis is now 80 and still living. She has said that she could look at a piece of fabric and "feel" what the fabric wanted to become.

This is a Cardinali Couture Vintage 1960s Fine Lavendar Blue Coat Dress just perfect for Spring. With Gorgeous Rhinestone Buttons that still maintain original sparkle and stones. A wonderful addition for the Serious Vintage Couture Collector.
